Production Overview and Development

PROJECTUM 000° was first conceived on 13 February 2013 as a unified cinematic system structured around ten interconnected epics sharing a single cosmological and philosophical framework. From its inception, the project was defined not as a conventional film series, but as a long-horizon narrative architecture designed to operate as a single integrated universe. The ten-epic structure was established at the point of origin and has remained unchanged.

Initial pre-production commenced on 24 June 2013, marking the formal transition from conceptual development into structured production planning. This phase involved foundational writing, narrative system design, and the early formation of the production framework that would later expand into a multinational operation.

Principal photography began on 24 June 2019 with three titles: The Light’s Grace, The Dark’s Cage, and The Unknown’s Progress. These films formed the first active production layer of the PROJECTUM 000° Cinematic Universe, with The Light’s Grace currently exceeding 60% completion.

A second production phase was initiated following pre-production beginning on 26 October 2019, with principal photography commencing on 15 June 2022 for 369 Days: The Annular Dimensional Life, Malus Universum, and The Latter World Order.

The third and most expansive phase began with pre-production on 27 September 2022, followed by principal photography on 06 June 2024 for LUCIFERUM, The 8th Epic (Title Classified), and The 9th Epic (Title Classified).

As of the present stage, all nine feature films are in active, simultaneous production, operating as a single coordinated system rather than independent productions.

Production Scale and Infrastructure

PROJECTUM 000° is produced at a large-scale multinational level, with a core production workforce exceeding 7,900 personnel. The production operates through nine parallel shooting units, enabling simultaneous filming across multiple films, locations, and narrative timelines.

Crew participation extends across a wide international network, including involvement from North Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Israel, Belgium, Germany, China, Japan, multiple regions across Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, Syria, India, Equatorial Guinea, and additional territories.

A centralized production headquarters operates within North Korea, coordinating all major aspects of the cinematic universe. The production structure includes fully developed professional divisions across direction, cinematography, production design, visual effects, logistics, and international coordination.

Production Model

PROJECTUM 000° is executed as a single-system cinematic production model, in which all nine films are developed and filmed concurrently within a unified framework. This approach differs from traditional franchise models, where films are produced sequentially or independently.

The production operates under a centralized command structure, with strategic and creative decisions collectively discussed, while final execution authority is retained at the highest leadership level. Operational responsibilities are distributed across units, allowing for large-scale parallel execution while maintaining narrative and structural cohesion across the entire universe.

Global Production Footprint

Filming for PROJECTUM 000° spans multiple international locations, including the Himalayan region and production activity across Belgium, North Korea, China, France, Scotland, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Greece.

The production holds a distinct position as the first cinematic universe and film franchise to conduct authorized filming within North Korea under a DPRK state-led production framework through Cosmocritor Entertainment. This access represents a rare and highly restricted production environment within global cinema.

Current Production Status

PROJECTUM 000° is currently operating ahead of schedule, with all nine films actively in production.

Major milestones achieved include:

  • Extensive on-location filming across multiple countries

Construction of large-scale practical sets for major sequences, including war environments for The Latter World Order and LUCIFERUM

  • Execution of large-scale practical destruction sequences, including the demolition of real structures within controlled production environments in North Korea

  • Development and deployment of fully established visual effects pipelines

  • Completion of significant portions of principal photography across multiple titles

The production has also undertaken the construction of large-scale physical environments, including highly detailed set builds for celestial and metaphysical sequences in The Light’s Grace, representing one of the most ambitious practical set constructions attempted within the project’s scope.

Current Position

PROJECTUM 000° is:

  • One of the largest simultaneous multi-film productions ever undertaken

  • A first-of-its-kind unified narrative system in cinema

  • A large-scale philosophical epic cinematic universe developed across multiple interconnected films

  • The only cinematic universe produced with direct production activity within North Korea under a state-led framework

The total production budget and financial scale of PROJECTUM 000° will be formally disclosed at a later stage, subject to internal approvals.
